I have a 5000 that I need to connect to a cisco call manager.
It seems like, we are going to connect them via a PRI.
Cisco ---PRI---5000---telco PRI.

I am not to worried about being able to call extensions on the cisco from the 5000.
The cisco though, is going to need to be able to make outgoing calls through the 5000 where the outgoing PRI is.
On the 5000 side, my thought is to have phantom extensions call forwarded across the PRI linking the 2 systems, for each extension on the cisco.
I don't know much about the cisco side, on how cisco extensions will call extensions on the 5000 or, make outgoing calls through the 5000.
I figure, the cisco people are going to ask me how to set their side up...to have outside calling access through the 5000.
Do any of you ave experience with what I am trying to do here?

I've linked systems, but never a Cisco Call Manager.

The PRI was split into two groups: one configured as a regular trunk group with B channels, the other group configured as OPX stations.

For outbound calls, access the PRI trunk group and dial the Cisco extension number. Either put a trunk group key on the phones, or number the trunk group with a single digit (let's say 6). To dial Cisco extension 123, press the trunk group key then 123 or simply dial 6123.

For inbound calls, the Cisco users would do the same thing. Dial the trunk access for the PRI, which gives them dial tone on an OPX station. They simply dial the 5000 extension number from there.

Mainly what I am trying to understand is how the cisco people will be able to make out bound calls.
They will need to access the 5000 across a PRI and then from the 5000, make an outbound call on the 5000's PRI.
The Cisco isn't going to have a telco PRI to it.
The cisco and 5000 will be located right next to each other. The only external lines will be to the 5000 though.

When you create the OPX, it acts like any other single line extension. You can dial another extension, or press 8 (or whatever the feature code is) to access an outline line. If there is no need to dial extensions on the 5000, they can be set up as house phones.

Since you’re not using a PRI to connect the systems, the configuration will be for a plain T1 - there is no D channel. Simply use a T1 cross-over cable to connect the two systems. I actually preferred to use regular patch cords and do the cross-over inside a dual biscuit jack.

The cisco equipment and the 5000 will connect to each other with a PRI that is a patch cord from the cisco PRI card to the 5000's PRI card.
The 5000 has a telco PRI.
I am wondering about the cisco users, making calls from the cisco through to the 5000 and then out to the world on the 5000's PRI.
