I have customer with hosted voip. Their factory paging system is tied in as an extension via a Cisco/Linksys ATA with a Viking pots paging interface. It works fine most of the time, but too often they get reorder tones (fast busy) blasting over the paging speakers. It used to be about once a month, but then seemed to increased to once or twice a week or so. A couple of options I'm considering are 1. changing to an Algo paging interface. The hosted provider recommends Algo. I tried a Cyberdata unit early on, but it was (I think) too complicated in that it offered zones and wanted more interaction from the caller (it was a while ago, but I think that was the concern). Would that offer better disconnect? 2. Sandman sells a little CPC generator that looks like it could do the job of cutting off the line as soon as the tones begin. https://www.sandman.com/wizard.html#CPCGeneratorI wonder if anyone has experience with this CPC generator? Or other suggestions. I know that reorder tones are common, I hear them often at the airport or other locations, but explaining that doesn't help the customer. I tried to see if we could discover what was being dialed, or who was not hanging up, to cause the off-hook tones but the logs did not reveal anything. Provider is Jive. I'm very happy with Jive, but unfortunately they do not have good logging.

If you're using a Viking RAD-1A, you can set the unit to disconnect after 20 seconds (or as long as is needed for your application) or so. This is pretty much a standard thing we do when connecting ATAs to paging interfaces. You can also make sure that CPC/disconnect is enabled on the ATA.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

The Algo 8180 is the way to go. As soon as the SIP call ends, it will disconnect. Audio out and relay contact if you need it, super simple to install and configure. Also ringing over paging if you need that too.

I second the Algo units. We've been installing them on hosted IP installations here with minimal issues. Their tech support seems to be pretty good as well. Any of the devices mentioned from Viking or Sandman are not what you're looking for in a true SIP environment.

Algo is great. We've used their doorphones and they are excellent.
