Hey all,
I am trying to change some port numbers on a mitel system. The ports have gone bad and I have a work around where I moved the phone to another port and then the old extension I have forwarded it to the new extension. This worked alright since it was only 1 phone. I now have a few other bad ports and need to be able to change the number on the new ports to the corresponding rm number. Essentially taking the number from one port and assigning it to the new port so that when the room calls the front desk it shows the correct number.
So my question is, can this be done from the attendant console or do I need the software to do it? Also could anyone lead me in the direction of where to get the software?
Any help is appreciated. TIA!
Jeff

You will need to re-program the extensions to new ports if you have some available. That would entail programming either from the console, or using a serial connection and a laptop. You should get a qualified Mitel technician on site to help you. You will need system passwords, and knowledge of where in the system you can accomplish this task, or if all the bad ports are on 1 card, replace it.
