Hi there, just have a quick question about something. Out of curiosity, what is the feature or programming called on a Toshiba phone system where there is an “automated lady’s voice” played on the overhead PA system saying “customer service needed in the ______ department“, and it will keep repeating itself until the department gets help? I would imagine it would be called something like customer service paging but I really don’t know. Is it even done through Network eManager or some kind of software that involves Toshiba or is it a separate unit? Where would you even go about programming this? Hopefully you know what I’m talking about. Any information would be great! Thanks a lot!😀

I am going to say that this is a 3rd party voice announcer, similar to something like this: https://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/dna-510/ which will page directly out of the amp, or something like this dialer: https://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/k-202-dva/ which could connect to a PBX and dial a paging code.

There isn't anything within the Toshiba phone system that can make any announcements, except a voicemail system, or an ACD system. Neither one of these would be work for this application.

There are a tone more announcers and dialers out there. I was just showing a couple of examples that I have read about. I believe that in the near future I will be installing the DNA-510 for emergency paging application, so if you want to know more about this product later I can give you a little more information about it. So far I only know about what I read on the install guide.

I know there was a FeatureFlex feature/application that allowed this a long time ago. There is a YouTube video of it called Toshiba Retail Application and Customer Service. I never personally used it but my vendor told me about when I was installing my system years ago. I no longer work for the company I had the Toshiba installed at or I would poke around the FeatureFlex app.

We did this years ago on a DK280 but used the Stratagy to make the announcements. We used token programming in a mailbox.

IMHO my recommendation would look at 3rd party devices rather then trying to get this to work on a Stratagy voicemail system.

Programming by tokens will take some good programming knowledge on Stratagy, and I am not sure of the OPs Stratagy token programming skills. I think that the hourly rate for a tech to try to get Stratagy to do something like this would be better spent on a device that was designed just for this specific purpose.

Regardless of what device makes the announcement, you may want to look at a professional voice talent to do the messages. I don't think any device will come with any greetings that will work for your specific needds.

I agree with newtecky go for an external 3rd party device to give you what you need using the Stratagy and token programming will end up costing you more time and money than its worth, then support will also be an issue going forward as well.
