We're new to NEC.
We've gotten the 2100 demo system, licensed for SIP trunks.

We're having a devil of a time getting the trunks to work.
Our carrier gave us a test circuit and DID number to work with.
We've set up a router just for the NEC.

We've talked to NEC support, our carrier support and our distributor support.

No joy.

Something is missing and we're not getting any clear direction from all the support.

We are using a diff circuit from the same carrier for our service on a Samsung system.
Works fine. Fewer entries, easier to set up.

Any help would be appreciated !

Go get a white paper for SIP off the NTAC. You will have to make changes but you should be able to get it to work if it's not too weird a SIP setup from the carrier.

Don't know if you guys know but you can write scripts for this, I have an excel spreadsheet that I enter variables into and then click a button to create a script that I can then load directly into the system. It works everytime and you can't make mistakes or leave anything out because it is all in there! PM me if you want more info!

What do your scripts do? These work in a 9100?

The scripts I generate from the excel spread sheet program all aspects of the connection for a specific supplier here in Australia but it could easily be modified for any carrier and they work for both the 2100 and the 9100. I also modified it last week to also permit outgoing calls on the sip trunks as they come up as not allowed outgoing as default. I don't have a copy of the new version but the below is an example of the output. You may also note that it also contains the SIP script settings that NEC recommend using to save having to run two scripts. Note, I have also used these scripts with the SL1100 and some of them with the 8100.

Please note that the rightmost column should be inside quotation marks but I couldn't generate the script properly at home (limitations of the laptop/software version) and the columns should be tab separated. The script generator normally outputs it in the correct format and with the right file extension. I am also working on a basic configuration script generator and I have a script written for the F Route settings for my area I will post more if anyone is interested but I will wait till I get to work and be able to give the proper output.

If you are trying to work these out, it is worth noting that PCPro commands start at 1 whereas the script to set the same parameter starts at 0 so everything is -1 except the setting value.

Can't edit so I should say. column 2 ( the command number isn't -1) ! I had to play around to find the correct syntax for some of the commands as there are no instructions/information around this! But having played with this enough, I can now install one of these SIP trunks in seconds given the correct information!

The last 2 lines of this sample are to make sure that outgoing calls are allowed and are worked out from the start point (in this case there was a 3 analogue trunk card fitted so the SIP starts at 3 taking into account the -1 of script programming) and there were just 2 channels.
