I got exposed to the Eagle systems because K-Mart used them in their Pace warehouse. When they sold out, to Wal-Mart IIRC, that meant I still had to work on them. They were fun systems if you were transitioning from 1a2 to digital since it took both sets. I think I actually paid for manuals for the Eagle, pretty pricey at the time (so was the Electra 28 but that's another story).

My story is pretty similar to you guys. After I left the phone company, I worked for ITT, General Dynamics, and trained in Mitel. Those early ATC/Fujitsu boxes sucked. Mostly phantom static, fixed by pulling the card and resetting it. By the time the late 80's came, I had standardized on Comdial, Panasonic, and the ill-fated Vodavi Starplus boxes, training in the SPX and digital systems. I think I went to my first Pana TD training class in 1994 or 95. As all the big guy wannabe's, Panasonic cut out the little guy and tried to only sell to companies with deep pockets. See Comdial, Mitel, etc. etc. Throughout my career, it was always easier and more profitable to install and service other people's equipment so that's why I worked for the Nationals. Geeze, I was never getting a Wal Mart, or Kohl's, or insert National retailer's name here and the money was steady and fairly good.

Now, I dabble in VoIP, mostly looking for SIP trunking for the residuals. I try not to run any cables and my major accounts have Raspberry Pi's on site for remote access. It's all good, as long as I have my privacy keys in order and the remote end stays up.

Eagle telephone systems, reminds me of going to NATA in DC in 1984 or was it 85? Keys Systems everywhere, Kanda, Panasonic, Telrad, Trilliums (which I sold and installed) Comdial, and a whole bunch that were one year wonders.

uh oh what was that little Eaglet programming adapter called? I had one on the Bell Atlanticom truck back in the day. While packing to move I found a couple of old Bell Atlanticom shirts.

I don't remember the name...Eaglet adapter?

Too late to bid on this Eagle/One.

In the picture with the 25 pr hanging our of the wall we always called the harmonica adapters somethng like 258A adapters and the single port 158A's. (?) They never had velcro. We used tons of CPC's.

To ChevyFanAttic Mike, I've been away for awhile but I enjoyed your intro to us! I'll bet you have quite a few stories about the Hollywood crowd. I've lost touch with another old member who lived in California (I think it was a Tim) who also worked with a number of stars and starlets. He shared a story with me once about working for Drew Barrymore and she got upset with him over something but his brain went south because her bright red lips were just inches from his face and all he wanted to do was kiss them!
