Oregon Supreme Court Bans Police Officers From Asking Random Questions During Traffic StopsWe know the courts have upheld that the police are not required to tell you why they pulled you over. So I can see the scenario unfolding: Oregon State Trooper: "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Me: "I'd really like to answer you question, however, on the advice of Counsel I should only reply to question regarding the reason you pulled me over." Source
