Getting an Associate of Applied Science (double major Computer Information Systems and Cyber-Security). That way I can just sit at a desk, answer the phone and ask, "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" for minimum wage.
So, all school is now online classes and I am not missing any work. | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 8,756 Spam Hunter | Spam Hunter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 8,756 | After 23 years in the industry, I was laid off by Level (3) back in 2013. Not a whole lot of demand for C.O. techs at this point.
Became my mom's primary caregiver until her passing in 2018.
Now a building manager for the time being.

They say that we might get our jobs back once the virus scare is clear or by the end of April. Might...

The project I was running got shutdown due to virus concerns, so now I'm working as a laborer on another job we're doing. We're still working because we're considered 'essential', fortunately. Hang tough guys, looking like its going to be a long road.

Essential ones can stay open. I have a small manufacturing plant that will go out of business if they can't get phone calls so guess who gets to be "Mr. Essential businessman" to get them converted to VoIP with cell phone access. Yay me.
It was put to me that the International caller don't give a crap what Ohio does. They'd just move on to someone else for business. We'll see how well this goes come about 2 PM tomorrow.
Carl Happy that I had 3 days notice that it was coming

They always wait till it's a emergency. But we get it done. | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 2,545 Likes: 1 Moderator-Panasonic | Moderator-Panasonic Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 2,545 Likes: 1 | I reserve about 6 Voip numbers for such events. Voip.ms is pretty quick for random number and they hold for under $1 a month

Between getting Voip phones and power packs or injectors delivered to them to take their phones home or getting them set up on cell phone apps. walking them through plugging everything in and getting working at home. call forwarding their main line to a cell phone. changing vm greetings.
I would have thought more people here were busier than ever.
Im sure the slowdown is coming but lets hope we get this thing over with sooner than later. | | |
