I have a customer with a CIX 40. When they hit their Message button, it says Camp On 250 and continues to ring. I believe the voicemail is somehow locked up.The phone display says 14 new messages, 6 saved. But the voicemail will not answer.
Does that sound right? Should we try a hard reboot? We'll take the risk if we have to.

Do you have the Stratagy VM Manager software? if you do then loginto it and check the current status of the ports to see what mailbox they are currently using as this will help trying to diagnose what happened to cause the ports to lock up.
If you don't have the software then you will need to power off and back on the CIX40 to free up the ports on the LVMU.

All the ports in use could mean 1 of 3 things; A. Ports in use by callers (not common in a small system like the CIX 40) B. Hackers C. Ports stuck in a loop (most common)
A and B should be obvious to the customer because the CO trunks would also be in use.
Unfortunately even through the CIX 40 is pretty much plug and play, the default settings can create loops in the voicemail when the caller hangs up. On every system I install, I change these settings from the default to prevent voicemail loops. - Trunk disconnect supervision enabled - Change default operator extension (0 doesn't ring anywhere in the PBX) - Hang up after recording in general mailbox
