I was the IT guy in 1995 when we installed an ADIX with a 4VML card at a ski resort. I maintained it for 15 years until I retired. Recently, a lightning strike fried parts of the system, including the 4VML. The system then was left unplugged for a few weeks, which put the CPU into default mode. All the documentation I had was either destroyed or tossed maliciously.

I was begged back into service and I have everything up and running again, except for the DTR in the Auto Attendant. I need 2 of the 8 trunks to go to a different menu, which worked just fine in the past. I think I may be missing something in the Integration Tab.

Integration is set to default values, and I have tried different DTR checkboxes being checked.

The DTR Table and Off Hook Scheduling all look correct I believe.

All programing is done through a station (sigh) and VMI 3.02.13.

CPU is V6.30 D

4VML is R2.03

Thanks

The first thing to check would be in the programming for the ADIX. Is the KSU sending trunk numbers to the VMI? Check that in Class 4,Item 71, Element 14, Trunk ID packet. This setting by default is set to no packet info sent to the voicemail regarding trunk number, Set it to 1 for just trunk number, or 2 if you need trunk number AND Caller ID info.

Thanks. Looking at the manual that makes sense. I think Elemen 14 currently = 2, and I had it at 5 at one point got really crazy results, calls were going right to the VM box of the extension that matched the CID area code. 1 should just be the trunk ID.

I'll be on site Monday morning and will try that, and mess with the DTR check boxes in the VMI System Integration tab.

Thanks! I changed 04.71 e14 to 1, and the trunk routing is working correctly as per the DTR table. However, I have now lost the ability to call a 3 digit extension from the menus, I get "Invalid Option" now. The menus are set to extension access, and that was working before the change.

Here’s the In-band Table setting if that means anything, sorry that the forum doesn't allow formatting...

Status Sequence DTR Action Subaction Parameters
1 Ignore 8, None None
2 Active 8[trunk], Ckd None None
3 Ignore 8[cid], None None
4 Ignore 8[trunk][cid] None None
5 Active 5, Tran Invalid Recll
6 Active 6[box], Tran Mallbox [box]
7 Active 7[box], Tran Mailbox [box]
8 Active 4[ext] Tran Mess Key [ext]
9 Ignore 9[ext] None None
10 Active 7[ext][source], Tran Mailbox [ext]
11 Active 2[box] Recrd Call Rec [box]
12 Active 6[ext][source] Tran Mailbox [ext]
13 Active 5[ext] Tran Mailbox [ext]
14 Active 7[ext][cid] Tran Mailbox [ext]

Thanks again for the help!

That looks like the default configuration, so no problems jump out.

Check Integration Settings, General tab and be sure your extension number range is correct. By default, it's only 200 thru 299. If your station numbers are outside that range, you'll hear the error message you're hearing.

Also, ADIX VMail integration packet codes Class 4, Item 77 should all be at default values as well.

Thanks JBean3329.

The attendant was transferring to the extensions with 04.71 e14 = 2, but was not doing the DTR table. With 04.71 e14=1, the DTR table kicked in, but then the 3 digit entry went to "Invalid Option". I tried e14 values 1 thru 7, and didn't get the desired results.

I did change the Sequense, item 2, from Ignore to Active, and checked the DTR box.

System Integration, General, Extensions = 199 to 497. Although I really only need 200 to 264.

04.77 is at default values also. = 8,9,8,8,5,6,7,6,7,6,7,7,4,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,2,-,2222

Grrrrr. I know it's something simple.

What is the default action of the menu (menu 900/905) set to?

Does each extension you're trying to reach have a mailbox?

Are the ports in ADIX Class 1 that the voicemail lives on set to VM/AA or just AA?

Try connecting to status screen and watching what the voicemail is actually processing as you call in.

It's really strange. It started working just as it should, then it went back to not working for a few hours. Now it's doing what it should.

I'm wondering if being logged on with the programming software has any impact on what it does.

And, today, we had some close lightning strikes, I even twice saw a large spark from unused CO lines arc to a ground bar, like a 220v short would do. It didn't seem to effect the system though.

And the defaults are all Transfer | Normal.

Extension do have functioning mailboxes, but callers should be able to call an extension without one.

Last I check 01.04 was 0 for the 8 VM ports.

The only things I was messing around with today was trying to get Off Prem transfer to work, but that may be a different thread soon.

Thanks for your reply!

If you're connected to the system and making programming changes, none of those changes are written until you break your programming link. Could be that you had made a change, tested with no luck, then disconnected and wrote changes to system memory and saw success. Stranger things have happened, and I've gotten snookered by not disconnecting many times.

To save yourself some grief, the off-premise transfer from a VMI card is set up to only work with Centrex lines. There are a couple of ways you can make on off-premise transfer, though. You can:

Connect a phone to an un-used digital port, set the phone to use Flexible Forwarding to a number stored as a Personal Speed Dial, then disconnect the phone. The down-side to this method is you have to reset the forwarding if the system reboots for any reason.Or:

Set up an External Networking code to dial an off-premise number and direct the auto attendant to dial that number as though it was making a blind transfer. This is unaffected by system resets, but may or may not work as well as it should depending on your system software level.

Lots of ways to make your life more interesting...
