Actually had 3 customers this week specifically ask for digital phones on their new systems with zero VOIP.

Thanks for the info.
We just bid against one.
We did a high end UcaaS system.
It was a easy win. UcaaS ran rings against the NEC proposal

The NEC could not do much compared to UcaaS.
Or as I suspect the NEC guy was not knowledgeable on the NEC

It was 70 phones and the customer was told he could not have remote phones (I doubt that )
And no apps on cell phones ( that's correct) or laptop apps.

Those 2 features alone are why we easily won this.

Interesting because what you said isn't true. Good on you to find someone that doesn't know what they are selling.

I'm fairly sure the customer did his research and going to UcaaS anyway. But the NEC guy was my best assistance .

Customer wanted no up front costs and low monthly payments . The savings from his PRI also brings his costs down

NEC has it all. They are pushing cloud heavy these days. Univerge Blue.

70 phones sounds like a sweet deal for you.

I believe the Univerge Blue is Intermedia. The NEC folks are top notch and the equipment / service is great.

For some. But they roll out new equipment all the time. I don’t think you understand how much of the SMB they do.

NEC unlike the competitors has taken the road of investing in their on-premise systems, yes they now offer cloud but the SL and SV systems are and will continue to be their main focus. We here are beginning to see back lash of the cloud solution I believe NEC always knew this was coming.
The cloud solution is not going away but unless things change especially customer service and long term cost their market share drops.
