We have a IP phone that needs to be disabled temporarily, meaning, it should not be available when called, transfered and no voice messages should be recieved either. Please advise on how to go about doing this.
Our system version is: Inter-Tel 5000 Version 1.0.0.16 DB Studio 1.2.5.11
Thanks, Rog

Does it still need to make outgoing calls or can you just unplug it?

If you remove the mailbox, the extension cannot be reached by external calls and no messages can be left. When the new user is in place, associate a mailbox.

Unplugging the phone has not helped, it still takes people to voice-mail when they call the number.

I deleted the mailbox and that resolved the issue.
