Hello All. I inherited an Inter-Tel 5000 system and am now trying to get Reporter Pro to play nice.

When i open Reporter Pro, it looks to be setup properly, but gives me an error:

A database file appears to be invalid or corrupt. The database may need repairing or could be locked by another user (800a0d0f)

When i browse to where the database files should be... i can clearly see .ldb (lock database) files... indicating that my problem is the database is in use by something.

I rebooted the server and tried again, but same story. To my knowledge, no one else at my office is using anything related to Reporter Pro or Reporter Real-Time... so i'm unsure what the issue is... i'm a little worried about just going in and killing the .ldb files...

Can anyone help guide me in the right direction?

Thanks a ton!

EDIT: if it helps... the Reporter shows in the bottom right side of the screen when i open it:

Starting networking...
Waiting for connection...
Contact Center Server data received...
Preparing session...
Reading database...
Reading agents...

thats as far as it gets...

Thanks again!

Bump... does anyone know if its safe to just kill the lock files? Normally I would just blaze ahead and do this... but I'm a little afraid on this database since i do not want to risk corrupting the data.

Click on the Network button at the top of the Reporter Pro window. That will show you the name of the computer running the actual database. Log into that computer. Open Database Manager. Go to Databases. There is a button at the bottom to Repair. That will display all of the databases and which ones need repair. Highlight the databases in need. scroll to the bottom and click on the Repair button.
