I am trying to learn how to hook my laptop upto the partner r7, I have everything working except I do not know the default password to get in with the admin software. Can someone provide me with that.
Also could you please tell me how to use the ethernet port to program with if at all possible.

Hook your laptop's serial port via an Avaya 355-A adapter to the 8-pin RJ-45 sytle serial port connector on the R7.
The password is set by YOU in the ACS's programming, in #730.
The ethernet port is undocumented and "reserved for future use" - maybe someday they will have a LAN GUI like the Messaging does.
