Does anyone have or know the pin out for a partner acs station cable? Looking to learn how to connect station cabling into a partner acs 308 station ports. I know it uses two pair but no sure?

If you maintain a standard 568A or 568B connection from end to end, you will be fine. It's just like running a long line cord between the control unit and the phones. You definitely need to provide two pairs, but they can be the traditional residential "Red/Green/Black/Yellow" format. It's about as basic as you can get to connect stations on this system.

Yikes! 568A, 568B for Partner wiring? We don't do no stinkin' data wiring for voice! puke

They may LOOK like 8 pin jacks but look closer. They are 8 position 4 pin. The ONLY reason they are made this way is so they can directly use the old Merlin wiring when a Merlin was replaced with a Partner. An 8 pin plug will fit but there are only 4 pins.

You only use 2 pairs for each extension and a 6 position 4 pin plug. Just take a look at the line cords. They are wired USOC straight through, T/R on the center pins (3&4) and the data/power pair either side of that (2&5). The T/R and data/power pairs are not polarity sensitive.

I know about the 568A/B thing Hal :p ! I just figured that if someone came here asking this question, it's likely they are more familiar with them than USOC wiring. USOC wiring is so out of style thanks to the computer guys. It's not as "good"!

Yes but on an 8 position plug they are positions 4&5 for tip and ring and 3&6 for power.

How about using Cisco routers with VIC FXS or E/M cards to carry the signal from the partner to the offsite station phone? My first thought was an FXO on system side and FXS on remote but the FXO only picks up signal when rung and then it picks up vs sending the ring to the remote station.

Any information would be helpful.

Don if you could would you post a new topic for your question. the odds of getting the answer you need is slim, as the origional poster was requesting pin outs and not opx.

the partner uses 2 pair to make the phone work and the fxo/fxs port only transmits on one pair so your plan will not work for putting a partner phone at a remote office without having the need of a second system.
