The original R7's had some dead port issues. The newer ones have had memory loss and sometimes they fail to disconnect the line on a remote call forward. That is all I have seen personally.

Hello Xconnect. I have a brand new ACS R7.0 The only issus I am facing is the fact that the two AAA backup batteries do NOTHING in the unit. There is NO retention of programming at ALL if you loose power for more than 5 minutes. System speedcall memory is totally gone if you loose AC for 5 seconds. Avaya has told me that this is a "Known Issue" and that I should go back to the place of purchase to have a memory patch installed. Supposedly this MUST be downloaded into an 8 MB PCMCIA card then inserted into the ACS. I'm still waiting for my salesperson to send me the pcmcia card or another ACS unit.

Thanks for the replys so far. A problem I had the other day is that I cannot turn Auto Extension Privacy #304 to "Off". We were told that is a known issue on the ACS R7.

If you can PROGRAM #304 to Not Assigned, but a station still acts as if it has privacy assigned, it has been flash upgraded to a "91I". You can still barge in, but you're going to have to dial Intercom-6-8-and Line Number to get there.

Update - I flashed this ACS from a R7 "I" to a R7 "J", and all is well.
