Hello,

I currently support a Merlin Legend PBX phone system. The business owner would like the phones to have a distinctive ring for inside and outside calls. He needs to know before looking at the phone if it is a customer calling or a internal extension calling. I have searched the doco for 'Distinctive' ring with no luck. I see how to program the phones ring song, but this is for all calls that come in. Note, all our received outside calls come in on Pool 70.

Well, they already have a distinctive ring for Internal and External calls. Listen carefully, and you will hear a Ring-Beep on External calls, no Beep on Internal.

In addition, you can change the ring sound on a per-station basis, but that station will still include the beep at the end of the ring cycle.

You could also hang a chime ringer off a S/L station port, put it in a central location, and assign the pool with immediate ring to it. It will chime at the same time the phones ring on Incoming calls.
