I am new to the legend system. I have a system with MLX phones and three of them can't dial 9 for an outside line.
I looked at ext. resr. it shows unrestricted.
I looked at ext. Dial outcd and it was blank.
I checked Dial outcd on a station that worked and it was blank also. I tried 070 in Dial outcd, no luck.
At this point I am fixing what ain't broke.
Can the operator disable stations? Also I couldn't find a place to assign pools to exts.

Go Extensions > Lines & Trunks > Dial ext.number > Enter. Click on buttom left button. All lines start from 1st that assign to Pool will lights up Green and Red. Co back to Centralized Telephone Programming and on your extension by clicking any line make it No Ring to all or your choice. You are done. After you will go out you would have a Pool button if that is not Operator's extension.

Sorry I forgot to add that the phone is ok except when you dial 9 you get an error tone and the screen says call denied.

At one time, I compiled a list of 7 ways a phone can be restricted.

The best way to determine what's up with an extension is to do a PRINT of it's translations, and then look at each and every line of information before the print shows the BUTTON Programming.

Menu > System Prog > Start/Exit > More > Print > More > Ext Info > (Enter Extension) & save to that EXTENSION'S NUMBER

That should be helpful.

Hold on Vad - why would you put a pool button on the phone, if he wants to dial 9 for outbound???? Ya know, there may be routing involved here!

When you dial 9, you are accessing Automatic Route Selection (ARS)

Then when you dial the rest of the number, the ARS tables compare what you dialed with which routes are allowed to dial those numbers.

Phones have a "Facility Restriction Levels" (FRL's) as well as Routes. If your phone has the SAME FRL or a HIGHER FRL than the Route, the call will go through. If the phone is LOWER than the route, the call will get "wave-off).

Go to Extensions > More > ARS Restrict, then dial the extension number of a WORKING extension. See what the FRL is (a number from 0 to 6). Then back up and do the same for a NON-WORKING extension. I'll bet the FRL is lower. Backspace it out, dial the same FRL as the working extension, press Enter, then test the phone.

Yeah, that was apparently an afterthought.

9 being ARS, they are restricted via FRl, Acct. Code, or Restriction.

"Call Denied" also appears when a call attempt is made from an extension assigned to the Forced Account Code Entry table.

Go to Extensions-->Account and touch the Inspect button. If the extension in question is there, hit Back-->dial the extension number-->Delete-->Back and you'll be golden.
