Customer has a G3 version 11 with remote 4621SW phones at remote locations. Sometimes the 4621 phones will go into a continual reboot cycle. We have tried changing ports on the Cisco switches, changing phones, setting the phone up static or DHCP, and nothing works at times. Sometimes you can work with it and finally get the phone to come up. Other phone models work fine without this type of issue. Has anyone seen this?

Thanks

Could be a firmware issue

I agree, its sounds like a fireware issue. How old are the sets?

Here is the info that he sent me:

There’s a bin file that my IP phone loads called a20d01b2_2_3.bin

There are other bin files on the server the phones could load, but as far as I know, they probably all load this file.

The other files listed in the server are:

a10d01b2_2_3.bin
a20d01a2_2_3.bin
a25d01a2_5.bin
b10d01b2_2_3.bin
b20d01a2_2_3.bin
b20d01b2_2_3.bin
b25d01a2_5.bin
bbla0_83.bin
def06r1_8_3.bin
def24r1_8_3.bin

I would start by upgrading the firmware on the phones. 2.9 SP1 is the latest. Also upgrade the firmware on the CLAN's to the latest version.

I searched on Avaya's support page and cannot find where to download firmware. I am new to Avaya. Our company was a Nortel partner and now we are an Avaya partner. Where can I go to download the firmware? I appreciate your help.
