This Telephone System has had (0) zero problems since I installed it new system in November 2019. A cabling company caused multiple issues more than once. Looking to hear some feed back:
I did not know about this deal until they had phone issues. A new Medical complex bought out a customer of mine decided to go with a VoIP cloud solution. A cabling co. told them they had cat 3 cables and needed to be replaced. Got them the job!. It was all cat5E data & voice to begin with. Anyways, the cabling company decided to install their data rack right where my operational system was needed to function at 100% for 4 months for this medical complex with 5 doctors & a bunch of nurses and staff, while they waited on the cabling completion. 50 phones, 3 operators 3 -48 button DSS modules, AA answer, Voice mail... through the 66 blocks there also was, Paging, Stereo, fax machines, credit card machines, analog devices. Fire alarm, Elevator, Alarm, cordless, Pri interface cable, waiting rm phone, etc.... This cabling companies guy told me; don't worry about that wiring, he had just mascaraed ,it going away, they are getting a VoIP system.

I considered this service call at 9 AM. I considered it Emergency Service The Router, all Fax Machines Dead, Credit Card Machines out, Paging System not Working, Voice Mail System, Adjunct Modules do not work, three Consoles, Two Dead, 216 Buttons; Busy Lamp Fields Buttons & (DSS) Direct Station Selection Buttons, dead. The Database was being quirky; It took several attempts to save the programming. The Copy data program was not working. Fields were showing up in the wrong place or not at all.

This guy removed the station cable D -rings, the jumper wire spools, the system 66 blocks were dangling off the wall , the jumper wires were all clumped in knots and tangled up in front of the 66 blocks. ***SEE PHOTOS***
I was there until 8 PM and early AM till 6 PM the next day. It lasted for 3 days until a vendor meet and this cable guy was going to come back in and connect my system 25 pair cables to his patch panel that evening. I said I could not be there but I advise you not to be touching the jumbled up jumper wires. I am sure they are shorting & that is what caused all of the problems before. Also It corrupted the data base. I was going to come back in and upload a back up database, in 2 days. But the next day I got a call : Loud hum and static through he intercom and paging. Consoles were dead can not put calls on hold No Park buttons, can not transfer calls, can not intercom, cannot get messages or use v-mail, The paging system is completely down. Again the consoles have been knocked out. No credit cards at all, this time. No dial tone to the Fire Alarm & on. I told them not to touch those wires. I came back in uploaded a back up it would not take. I reprogrammed everything by hand pecking. There were still issues. Lights were flickering on phones then not. Intercom's volume was fluctuating real low then real High And few dropped calls for some reason. There is a buzz through my laptop while connected to the phone system & programming They had Static through the internal paging.
Static on Intercom calls, Could not understand each other through the intercom, Phones lights flickering, Some times phones were working & Sometimes not., Volumes were fading in & out,, Phones lights were diming then shutting off., Phone would arbitrarily go dead.
Telephone system was rebooting itself! He had the phone system on a shelf under his rack right below a power source for the rack that was not grounded. Moved the phone system away from the power and buzzing & static went away. Installed a new processor. All problems are clear for now!

This is what I need feed back on . I told them that the jumper wires and wiring pins from the 66 blocks were shorting causing shorts is what has caused the database corruption. And it damaged the processor. There are two primary causes of processor failure: processor overheating and voltage surges from (Short circuiting) & Electrostatic discharge also causes surges & damages electronic components as well. Two of the systems 50 conductive pins voltage carrying connect blocks looks like they have been carelessly tossed about on top and over each other with all the voltage carrying jumper wires crisscrossed & clumped together. I told them this can burn out circuit boards, corrupt databases and destroy the entire telephone system!

Has anyone had a similar experience? What kind of problems did you have? What other kinds of problems could this have caused? I am needing to explain to these folks in a write up to convenience the cable company to pay for this. I am right here; They should not even touch an operating system until cutover? My Invoices are large because it took 6 trips and 2 all nighters to get everything fixed. In the middle the guy came back in and moved the wires around again. This time he had all but 8 of my phones ports in the sloppy hard to trace anything rack job. And I had to reprogram everything by hand. Then all signs were that that the processor was damaged as well! The rack is black cables on black unmarked patch panels. The jumper wires were a rats nest and you could not trace anything that way, because if you pull on one , it moved the entire nest and shorted.

Looking for feed back and technical wording for my invoices totaling better than $10,000.

I must be sleeping.... To the OP, how did you get involved in this in the first place? As soon as another party tore out your wiring, it becomes their responsibility. If your customer wanted you to fix it, then you should have negotiated rates.

Flash cut comes to mind. The other vendor took ownership the minute he pulled the blocks off the brackets.

Your $10K figure is grand. (10 of them, pun intended) but in a lawsuit, you'll not be fully compensated for labor and they aren't going to be your customer when the dust settles. Get what you can and remember the lesson you learned. GET IT IN WRITING!!!
