I would like to make a small investment in either a PC-Based or something like the AVAYA Office, VOIP telephone systems.

I have a cable modem service here at the old homestead and I would like to teach myself the next generation of Phone Systems.

Anybody have any suggestions or whoever can guide me to the right vendor, I would be appreciated.

I am interested in learning the programming and diagnostics of VOIP phone calling.

Thankx to all, Mitch

the best advise I can give you about voip is .....

Watch your frame and jitter controls they will be the key to voice quality.

Coral is right build you a cheap box and put astrix on it it's a good source for learning.

GS
It's all about band width and have a system that is resilent with a voice quality manager ! Let the server reserve/allocate and compress automaticaly ! We have a non secure test only 3300 . I will send you the Static IP . You can play with it . Go to admin and click help . If ya FIUP no harm done ! Let me know ? I will send ya the username password . But remember I can check the event log and see what individual users do ! I will create you a username profile . smile
