Ok, since many of the people on this board have mentioned their backgrounds, this looks like the best time to reveal a little bit about myself.
Actually you all do know a Global Crossing employee...... ::points to self::
I started back in 1990 with Allnet Communication Services installing Teltronics Netmanagers at customer locations for about a year, but after Intra-lata dial around service (1010xxx) died off, I started to work on the switch, a DSC DEX-400, then a 600 and lastly a 600E (that's where my screen name comes from), Tellabs DCS equipment, echo cancellers and other stuff.
I survived the Allnet/Frontier Communications merger and then the Frontier/Global Crossing merger.
The company is well out of bankruptcy and customers that have stuck with us, as well as those added since are generally pleased.
As a technician, I take a proactive approach to my work. Imagine calling a customer to let them know that you see a problem with their circuit long before they are aware that a problem exists!
