Anyone have a good source for loopback plugs for T-1 and 56k? A google search didn't turn up much. I would like to find some that are both the male/female type.

I have a habit of loosing small things so I usually just make some with a little cross connect wire and some 8p8c plugs.

Make them female with a gender changer.

To make a T1 loopback you just run a wire from one pin to the other as follows:
1 - 4
2 - 5

A 56K loopback is this order:
1 - 7
2 - 8

Also makes a cross-over cable by the left column of pins terminating on the other jack to the right column of pins. IE Pins 1&4 terminate to pins 2&5.

That last item is what I am looking for. My customer is nation wide, and want to make sure they have the ability to test circuits at each remote site. That solves the T-1 issue, but not the 56K issue.

I just bought 3 super looper plugs-the ethernet loopback, crossover, and T1 loopback. My networking teacher last year had them and I really thought they were a nice tool.

For a T1 CSU/DSU:

Its wires 1 and 4 together then 2 and 5 together

For a 56K CSU/DSU:

Its 1 and 7 together then 2 and 8 together.

Maybe they have one for the 56K but are not advertizing it. I would contact them directly and check on that. With an order of 900 I would assume they would go ahead and make some up. As it would not take a whole new dye but just a change in the pins.
