If the console is a MLX-20L, you must be on a Legend or Magix - What Release? Service Observing is available on Magix and late Legend releases.

In a former life (If I tell you I'd have to kill you [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]) a VOX remote mic for the recorder was set in the area along with a ceiling cam that looked like a thumb tack. We delt with SS numbers and other info not for general public knowledge. Only thing we ever "caught" was some smoking of green leafy vegitation. The above equipment is not hard to acquire / install. And this can be contracted out.

Sorry, service observing came in with the R7, and of course the Magix.

a Viking SO-24A could be a solution for you.
