formerly Time Worthless(tm) and Charter.

A MONTH ago, I issued a port order for two phone lines. Now I can read, normally, but this one takes the cake. It seems that of the 6 account numbers on the bill, one is the CONTROL number. That's the one I used. But no, the account number for the customer's PHONES is the account number and they have been looking for the BILLING TELEPHONE NUMBER which I have no clue what that is. I've tried all 3 numbers, the formerly ported number, the fax number, both of which I'm trying to port, and the first number of the 3-line Charter phone number...all have been rejected. So, time to trot out the Michigan PSC. The port meets all requirements and it cannot be denied. Let's test those PSC rules.. Meanwhile, the bill keeps ticking and the customer is getting two billsl Sigh....

I've seen this before. Allow Spectrum does the billing my customer had Charter lines and 1 did not talk to the other. Spectrum Must backtrack the number to the named carried of the number. Not easy and it takes effort on your part.

Well, you could try calling your 911 PSAP. Usually the BTN is the number they send to them.

I don't care what Spectrum's BTN is. They are unreasonably withholding the port, so now I have a call into the MI PSC and the new vendor is forcing the port. When the number is ported, I'm disconnecting all Spectrum numbers. The customer just got his first bill. Kinda like a Saturday night live skit "Why do I have to pay two phone bills and only get one phone service"..or was that Steve Martin and Pizzas?

Just a quick follow-up. Michigan PSC either fixed the problem or I got lucky. They left me a message and, Spectrum released both numbers. I think one of the carriers forced the port and the other just got it, or BOTH forced the port.

Anyway, I'm done with the nice guy stuff. Next one I'll just keep calling until I get the result instead of submitting and waiting.
