Hey guys, I am trying to replace a ip phone with another unit. I am getting this error. REQ:S30(2x20)on the new phone. Do I have to unregister the old softphone before I can do this?

Sorry, I have gone bonkers, it is not a softphone, it's a 3015IP desktop set. Being replaced with a 3000IP(no programable buttons on the right side).

From your first post, it looks like you need to change the station type on the TVSE. Also make sure you have your ECC password set in station attrb.

I've logged into the TVSE through the administrator web portal ip/login but I do not see a place to change the station type.

when I try to change the ECC password in Emanager, it says "You cannot change a password before deleting."

I know what the password is though because I have retyped it into the phone that is working for this extension to make sure it was the same, under the USER MENU.

The phone that is being replaced has a bad audio circuit in it, so the handset has a hum in it but works otherwise and has no problem when connecting.

THis is what pops up in the system terminal when I plug the phone in and it attempts to connect.

You have to go into phone programming through emanager to change the phone type, not the web portal. The change is made in the card configuration. If your getting to the system terminal, you should be able to get into programming.

TG,

Thank you so much for your help. I am still struggling though.

OK, this is/was set to S30. Which I think is the best choice.

Other choices are
A30, SipTk, SoftPhone, iPicasso

Set to A30 and give it a try.

TG, it gives me the error
This is a PABX station! MR1 key must be defined on the def map. "A30" is not a legal entry for the field "Type".

If this is a 3000 phone, it is not set up for PABX station in the default map as there are no MR keys. Try setting up a new DN number as an A30 and see if the phone will work. Don't forget the ECC password. If you need this phone to be a PBAX station instead of a key station you would have to build a map for this type of phone and sacrifice one of the feature keys like DND or Mute to make it an MR1 button. Or change the existing extension to key instead of pabx.

TG, Thanks for you help, I was just thinking this has to be something to do with the mapping, because I can't change it. And then when your help above about change to PABX vs Key phone. I'll give it a try.
