DK 40i - I need some help on programming. What program do I use for automatic line selection. Right now when a user picks up a phone he gets line 6, someone else picks up a phone and gets line 5 and so on down to line 1. How do I change it so when some one picks up the phone it grabs line 1 first, then 2, then 3 and so on? I tried Program 32, but nothing happened. I need it for all the stations(10-17). What program should I use and exactly how should it be entered via the phone.
Thanks

They are, but if I can do it myself and save my customer money, that's what I'm gonna do. I do have the manuals, just wasn't certain about some things. This should be the last bit of programming for the final set-up.

Toshiba trunk groups assend when using automatic line select. This is done to stop call collision (when the boss picks up his phone to call his girlfriend and accidently answers line 1 and its his wife [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] )

why do they want to pu line 1?
you could turn-off auto selection and give them individual co buttons 1-6. it's a security blanket for user knowing where each line is.(i have several customers who spec'd this configuration)

I explained all that to the customer and his reasoning is, "that's the way we had it before the move and that's the way we want it now". I smiled and said "not a problem"

You can't do it the way he is expecting. Although you can give him line 1 for off-hook preference in program 32 by assigning the port as 102. But if line 1 is in use it will not give him line 2 or higher. The only way I can think of is to punch down his trunks in reverse order (i.e. swap line 6 with 1 and line 5 with 2 etc.) and re-label the desis starting with line 6 on button 2, line 5 on button 3, line 4 on button 4 and so on. But that's just too much work for nothing.

I set it up so it grabs line 1, he is aware that it wont grab the next line if busy. He's fine with that set-up.
Thanks for all the replies
