Hi,

We inherited a DK40i phone system and 2 port strategy flash voice mail system when we moved into our current office location. The system has worked up till now, but the other day the system stopped ringing through to voice mail. A technical, computer guy tried to "initialize" the system using program 91-9 and now nothing really works. The system has 2 used of 4 CO lines, 5 used of 8 digital ports and 2 used (for voice mail) of 4 analog ports in the base cabinet. The system has an expansion cabinet attached, but nothing in it. I found the original data sheets for the system in a binder and tried entering the codes from each page that had an entry on it. The results of what I typed can be seen below (note numbers in "[]" are buttons on the 2020sd phone that are lit):

After entering all of the above, things are still not working. I have to assume that maybe something was not recorded or I am missing something that does not show up in these record sheets. We are small, only 4 people, and currently money is very tight. We don’t know who installed the system and I was hoping to avoid the cost of getting someone to come in. I was hoping that someone could look at what I did above and if I was missing something simple, just try to help, all we really want to do is get the voice mail working again.

This is the reason that certified techs are the way to go. Your "tech" appears to have made matters much worse, not better.
