Can someone tell me how to program the speed dial function on lines 1 to 8.

there a 2 sets of speed dial
one being system speed dial that everyone shares and station speed dial that is personal to a phone which do you need and what model control unit do you have
the set you referenced works on several systems

The phones all run through a strata system.One person told me to leave the phone on hook and press the # key and then the button that you want to program.then put in the the number you want and press # key but this does not work it goes to conf. page

From what you said it sounds like you are trying to program an auto dial button, not speed ???

again which system ,toshiba has several systems all called strata
if you want speed dial buttons on 1-8 where are your outside lines
to have a button designated for a speed dial # the button must be assigned in system programming then loaded with your #

what i want to do is on the side you have lines 1 thru 8 I want to program each line for a different ext. number like I pick up the phone and hit line 1 and it rings at ext. 651

This is an on board ship system

do you have a programming book on board if you do its program #39
doing this on port 005 in the system
if hit icm #402 it will show the ext and port
of the phone you need to do this on port 005
with a display set

That system is called a CTX-670. If fact, you have multiple cabinets because that model # is an expansion cabinet, not the main (CHSUB672A).
If those buttons are already assign a fuction by the installer, then you can not change them. They can be changed by the user if they are programmed as One Touch Keys.
