To anyone familiar with the Strata DK424 PBX!

1st question, I've been attempting to reassign extension 0 (operator) back to the receptionist (4200) but have no idea how to do this. For some reason it was assigned to extension 4800.

As well, when in Stratagy voice mail, I have @G4200 next to the receptionist extension but am not sure what this means. Is there a list of command prefixes and / or init strings somewhere for this PBX?

cheers,

Peter

@G4200 means it will go to box 4200 greeting, are you talking about if someone press "0" from the voicemail, first check to see if there is a mailbox "0" and what is in its extension field, then look in box 990 & 991 at the groups and chains and see where "0" goes.

Ok thx for the info on @G.

Indeed, we have box 990 as the company greeting & then 991 as the instruction box, users have the option to dial a 4 digit extension, press 7 for name directory or 0 for assistance.

I believe there is a mailbox 0 and I will verify the groups & chains of 990-991... as well it appears that loops are to be avoided as they may lock up the system.

if everything checks out, would there be an alternative to this issue or this would be it?

Thx!

@G4200 should be @G(4200). The paranetheses are needed.

Hmmm... checked extension 0, 990, 991, 4200 & 4800 all chains groups, menus appear fine.

0 has @G(4200) on the 'extension field' & 'menu digit' 0 but when user dials 0 as menu choice given on recording from 991 user is still forwarded to either 4800 or elsewhere than 4200... a rather annoying problem I must say! :scratch:

what could be doing this?

cheers,

Ok here goes, this is what Stratagy was showing me under 'groups menu' every field was blank with the exception of the following...

990 chain -> 991 - group -> 1

991 chain -> 999 - group -> 1

0 chain -> 999 - group -> 1

(999 being admin ext. in this case as it should be)

Now, I noticed that for instance, if I change the 999 for 4200 for 0, it seems to has as much effect as the @G(4200) in the ext. field, which is none (even when saving modifications).

2nd thing, if this is something 'group' related... how do I even access this option in Stratagy?

cheers,

Peter

Keep all the mailboxes as group 1 unless you plan on dividing mailboxs into groups.

The @G(4200) will cause the call to go directly the mailbox 4200, then execute the Extension field in that box. If the extension field is 4200, then it will call ext 4200 ( if Do Not Disturb is OFF). Chain Done never runs from box 0. The call goes immediately to box 4200 (if Do Not Disturb is OFF).

The chain done to 999 is a hangup, and is there to prevent loops locking up the port.

I thought you said the menu options were empty. How is there an option 7? Check box 990 and 991 again and see if menu option 0 is defined.

Oh ya, and why don't you watch the status screen while you call in and test the menus.

Hey thx guys for all the prompt feedback!

4200 is not a phantom but the actual ext. chosen for Physical Port 0 being one of approx. 150 users on the PBX. At least no PhDN entries are setup in DKAdmin as far as I know.

Yes the 'menu options' are empty with the exception of what I listed for each box... unless factory settings don't show for whatever reason, not sure what to tell you.

- Will recheck all settings of each box and whether 'call forward' is active on ext. 4200, who knows.

- Will probe all menu choices heard on 990 & 991 during a normal call from Stratagy's status page and see which mailbox Stratagy takes each push of a button.

cheers,

Peter
