I know in the DK platform we could turn this off so things like sent 245-500v didn't appear on the LCD (I think it was in program 35). Can we turn this off in a CIX?
Station Assignments,
Option 41 activate message waiting set to disable
On the CIX it's in program 200 per station, Activate Message waiting, to prevent people from turning on other people's MSG light. I disable it of for all stations (except voicemail ports) for every install.
Programm 200 FB 41 is disabled for all phones and VM ports.
Not sure if this makes a difference...this is appearing on ext. 200 - 245 is a secondary DN that rings on 200 and will forward to mailbox 245.
Any other ideas?
From DN 245, dial #64500 and that should cancel the mw send.
I will have her do that phonemeister - how do I stop it from appearing again though?
Whats DN 500? Voice mail?
MJ wald - 500 is the VM pilot number
phonemeister - what you suggested didn't work - as soon as she presses 245 (a phantom on ext. 200) it rings to the other phones that have 245 appearing on it. 200 is the owner. Any other ideas?
If it's a phantom, why would it ring other extension when you press it? That key is sounds like a DSS key. If is was a phantom you should get a dialtone.
it be a phdn message waiting light. can you look in programming and see what that button is?
you dont have to use emanager to do this you can see what a button is in the user program mode as well.
also intercom #409 still works on the CIX systems too so if you dial that from the phone it should cancel the MSG light from blinking
not sure if this helps you are not as i dont fully understand what you mean by "when she presses 245 it rings to the other phones that have 245 on them" are you using 245 as a dial 0 ??
You had also mentioned that PHDN 245 forward to Mailbox 245. Is the message light not turning off after messages are retrieved?
In phdn's is 245 owned by 200, also is message center set to 500?
I believe she was press ign the DSS key on the DDSS unit and not the actual phantom button - we'll see!
I am posting on this again as the 245-500V still appears in the LCD of 200.
200 is the owner of 245 and when she presses 245 and does # she gets a busy signal and can't continue. There is no MSG light on 200 for 245 so #409 wouldn't work wither.
The Activate Message Waiting (FB41) is off for all phones in this PBX and as far as I know 200 is the only one with the issue. 245 rings on a button on ext. 200 and she does transfer calls to other users on the system. I believe if a call comes in on 245 and isn't answered it goes to mailbox 245.
Anything else I can try?
Just a thought...
What happens if, at station 200, you press PHDN245 to get intercom DT and then dial 500 to return the call as the display is requesting you to do.
I would think that would clear the LCD message, but I don't know how to prevent it from returning the next time a message is left in mailbox 245
Delete the extension and re-create it. Don't waste your timee It stinks but that is usually the only way.
If ext 245 has a voice mail box but has no msg lite, than the msg lite for 200 will turn on. It will not however turn off after the msg is retrieved. Either give 245 a msg lite or turn off notification for box 245.
It is fixed!
I had to have the customer press DN 245 then #409 and that worked. I think it wasn't working before because she wasn't pressing the right button before the #409.
