I have a customer with a dk424 system and a fairly new Active voice voicemail. They went and bought a Stratagy voicemail to use also. They want to use both systems, The Stratagy for the main auto attendant, user mailboxs etc., but keep using the Active voice for their dept. mailboxs because it can light multiple msg lights for one dept. mailbox without using phantoms and automatically transfer the msg to the user box of whoever listens to the msg first. Can I have two seperate voicemail systems and have both be able to light msg lights and call into the correct system when the msg light is pushed ?. If not, would a IES32 system have newer features like their Active voice has. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.
A rookie question here:

(I have some to little experience with Toshiba mostly from Stata III to Strata 96 and a couple DK's 280's...14's(?) and ...and...it's been awhile.)

My first question would be the software intergration. MWI's, x-fer to VM...

If it is possible, then it seems logical that you would need to have two buttons, one for each system, and then what about message waiting lights...

What about trouble shooting...

Having one system with different department groups.

But then I just had a long day and a glass of wine.

I've tried trouble shooting, the problem is no matter what voicemail system lights a msg light, the msg light will log you into the system that has the port that is the "message center" in program 13. If I remove the data in program 13, neither system will light a msg light.

I think you may be able to seperate extensions so that some people would be on one system and other people would be on the second voicemail system, but trying to seperate tthem the way you are trying, I don't think will work. I think if the Active voice has more of the features, why add a Stratagy.

The IES adds some more capabilities, such as email and faxing, but most of the voicemail operations work the same as the basic Stratagy. I don't think it would give you the features you are look for, plus it would not work in a DK system.

If both are going to light the mw lamps then it can't be done. I'm with Newtecky. Stick with the Active Voice. Having the Stratagy with it is superfluous.

Thanks for the feedback, I didnt think it would work, They bought the Stratagy before telling me they wanted to run both voicemails.
Thanks again.
