I am haveing problems with a IES16 voice mail that needs authentication for the email to send. I saw some where else online where another installer had install PostCast smtp server directly on the IES16. Has anyone does this or have any experience with it???

Thanks

Web Knowledgebase article 2417 describes it in exquisite detail.

It's *still* a pain to set up & troubleshoot!

Good Luck!

Ben:

If you could send it to me as well that would be great. I am on the sales side of my company and don't have access to the knowledge base, but we just ran into this issue.

I prefer not to install much of anything on these voicemaial systems. I have heard other people doing it, but if you had any issues with the OS booting, then you are out of a voicemail system. One time I had installed an Internet time sync because the local time kept drifting.

I also believe that these systems are pretty under powered. They are fine for what they are designed to do, but add any other service, and I believe you are pushing you luck (personal opinon).

That being said, the Stratagy can not send using authentication. You can send it to another server, such as another local machine running IIS, that will relay the message to the other server. I have never used that SMTP software so I can not help you there, but I would imagine that the idea is the same, to use it as a relay service.
