has anyone cloned the stock hard drive in an ip edge and put in an ssd off the cloned image? thoughts or problems that might arise??
Theoretically you may be able to clone the drive as long as it was an identical image, but I don't know if you would gain anything except for a faster boot-up time.
I have done this many times and it works 100%
As for the faster boot up time the EP boots marginally quicker than the original HDD but not that much.
It is not an upgrade for speed more so for reliability.
Thanks for the replies guys. I cloned the original drive using a clone software program called, Active@ Disk Image. The SSD works perfectly with the IP Edge! I used a 256gb drive and kept the same drive partitions as the original 160gb drive.
This was not done for performance, but for reliability. My old drive had 35,000+ hours on it. Not about to deal with that shit soon.
