Is there any way you can program a Toshiba phone system (in my case a CTX28) to play the typical Toshiba beeeep alert tone and then the overhead speakers would play a voice recorded or silicone sally page that would say something like “call for _____”, department name or “call on line _”, when the phone is not answered from the auto attendant. I assume that’s something like park and page? I’m not sure? Hopefully you understand what I’m trying to explain. The reason I ask is because I saw something like this on a Toshiba phone system video online. If someone could clarify this, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Some Toshiba voicemails have the ability to do park and page using token programming. I will say that paging in any CTX or CIX system will not have a prepage alert tone. If you want an alert tone you would have to have the Toshiba hooked to a paging amp that provides a prepage alert tone.

I heard a pep-boys using this function on an old Strata DK, but they had a 3rd party Teleco voicemail system, not a Stratagy. It is not a built-in function of that CTX28 voicemail system, but it is probabaly possible with an experienced programmer with Token programing. I don't think that it would be worth the time, effort, and expense to get this working.

The newer IPEdge systems did have a park and page function. The way it would work is that the caller would have the option to page the person. The voicemail would put the call on hold and make a page that there was a call on hold for that person. It sounded like a cool feature, but I never had a request to set this up for anyone.

I guess I shouldn't make assumptions on your voicemail requirements, but when I have done customer programing using tokens it seems like it takes longer then you would expect to get everything working properly. The average Toshiba tech doesn't normally spend very much time doing this type of customization, but maybe someone has already done this on a Toshiba system and could get it working faster then an average tech could..

Token programming takes time and access to the voicemail with VMmanager. I have done token programming many times but will not do it for free. My time has a value.
Jared I keep saying time and time again this forum is for user based questions and what you continue to do is ask for support on admin level programming. I think its great that you got a used system and got it working and that you continue to try to improve it. I think its great that the techs on here have been so forthcoming with FREE support. For all we know this system isn't in your house its at a paying customer site you get free support and bill the customer.
