Taking a shot here. Have a customer that has an old Toshiba DK 16 with a Lingo Voice mail. Have never seen one before. They need to re-record their auto attendant greeting. No user guides, documentation. Anyone have any idea how to record the auto attendant greeting using a key set (ext. 10 on the Toshiba?) Thanks

Long shot but look at page 32 of the Installation manual.

I'm still searching for an easier way...

Here is the Technician's Guide.

That was one of the many Dialogic based plastic brick systems that were loaded with the different manufacturers DOS based software stored on Compact Flash cards. Toshiba Strategy, Active Voice Lingo, Key Voice and Comdial Debut were others in the same vein. Comdial/Key Voice later had Rhetorex based hardware for direct digital port integration. I think NEC/Nitsuko offered a version also.

I wonder if you can program it using the Stratagy DK Admin DOS tool?

If you can use it on Active Voice I would think so...

The Lingo can be administered with Cosessions. But if you only want to change the opening greeting, you can record it using a telephone set. Call into the Lingo by dialing the voice mail pilot number. When you hear the voice mail answer, enter the system manager user ID. I PM'd you the default ID.

We installed one of the Nitsuko voice bricks on a DS2000 back in around the year 2000. Customer called complaining some callers were cut off. Came to find out Nitsuko was using dial tone as the disconnect order for the voicemail. So some men with deep voices would be leaving a message if they stopped and stuttered with and ahhh the system would disconnect.
Once this was figured out I could make it disconnect every time by saying and ahhhh.

Nitsuko had no fix at the time so we pulled it and installed a Voicegate Wizard. (also used the brick)

Forgot about Voicegate. I even sold those. They are all starting to run together. LOL

ah yes, the old Active Voice...Lingo, Replay, Repartee - wonder how many of those got scrapped over the years.

The Repartee was solid whereas the Replay and Lingo were dogs.
