Following two power outages my system would not work. Once the power was back on it had to be reprogrammed ( the ups failed). Should this happen and does the KSU have to be programmed every time. Its expensive at $180.00 per service call!
No, it should not happen.
Inside the KSU (Control Unit) there are a series of dip switches. Switch 8 should be in the off position and the rest should be in the on posistion. If switch 8 is on, the memorey is defaulted upon power up.
Also, there is a seperate dip switch for the memorey battery. Make sure that switch is on as well.
IF both switches were in the correct position and it happens again what are my options? Is it possible that the internal memory battery is bad?
The system is only a couple of years old.
Thanks
It is HIGHLY unlikely that the memory battery is bad; they usually last at least 5-7 years. While the system is turned on, using a flashlight, confirm that these switches are in the proper positions.
