Hi all,
I just went out to a first time customer site, they have a Vodavi Starplus STS, they want an external bell to ring the CO lines and sets. It's been awhile since I seen a Vodavi and that was the older version. I told them I'd see what I could do.

I have the install & programming manual.

So the question is: Do I connect a bell to the relay contact and program external Night/ day ring to enable and does that effect all CO lines or do you have to do each one? Also I read somewhere that it needs to be connected to the paging system.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have several choices:

1. Use one of the SLT ports and program that extension to ring on all lines. That way, only a bell is required.

2. Program a relay contact to track the ringing, but you'll need to supply a power source and bell.

3. If there's an external paging system, you can program the lines to have UDA or UNA and a warble tone will be sent over the paging speakers when the lines ring.

They have a paging system, so the Key system provides it's own warble. I think I'll pick item # 3 myself
