Anyone have info on disabling system vm prompts on the sts voice mail that you dont want played? Customer has auto attendant greeting playing two system prompts at end of greeting that dont need to be played. The prompts played at the end of their greeting are #091 " if you have a mailbox on this system enter it now" and is followed by the second prompt #106 " if you know your party's extension dial it now or press 4 to dial by name". Can they be disabled without having to rerecord dead air for the prompt. Not wanting to do that due to gaps and not sure if you could even recover them after they were modified. Thanks for any help, Texastech

What I do is go into voicemail programing. Press 7 for prompts. Dial 091 for prompt number then hit # right away. Same for 106. Just dial 106# like pound is part of the number.

You don't have a great deal of flexibility when it comes to programming the sequence in the first stages of the greetings other than like you said about recording "dead air" in place of the default prompts.

To be honest its not even dead air cause I hit the pound key so quick. I think the flash voicemail is pretty flexible. You can either have the caller dial the extension or press a number to be directed either to another ccr or extension. What else do ya need. I just pound those out right away so the customer can leave their greeting and not hear those prompts.

XCountry is right on the button. We do that every time we install a flash vm. I think the new version of the Flash VM are different prompt numbers though.

Sounds good, but is there not a way to turn the prompts off rather than record over them? It seems odd that the manufacturer would make the a.a greeting be preceded by a default prompt asking you to "enter your mailbox # if you have one on this system". Just wondering because i've heard that once a prompt is recorded over you have lost it until you send it back to vodavi to reinstall in the unit. Maybe a setting is programmed to turn this prompt on or off? Maybe not? Thanks for your input on this issue.

CB your right about the recording over the prompts. I dont understand why they do it that way, like I dont understand some of the default settings in the sbx320. But I dont think I have ever needed them on a vm though.

Hey thanks X & Oobie, went ahead and immediately hit # at prompt rerecording and the prompts are gone without any dead air. Vodavi confirmed that the only way to get rid of them is record them like you guys said. Appreciate the help.
