First off, this is an STSe in a school building.
The teachers don't want to recieve external calls directly. Instead they want it to go to directly to VM. But, thats only if their station is dialed directly by the caller.
They do want to receive external calls if transferred from the office (sta 100). They also want to receive any internal calls/pages/all calls. To add to this, they'd like this scenario only during classroom hours. Aka 7:30 to 2:15.
Before and after hours they want all calls to ring in before VM picks up.
This sound plausible to any-one?

Oh..and the system is using the AA for all incoming calls.

Depends on which voice mail you are using..Hard drive or flash based.

Right...since setting the CO's to ring to 440 so AA gets everything, anytime someone calls an extension it goes straight to 100 instead of the dialed extension. LOL sometimes I think my head goes in too many directions at once.

There are some possibilities here but having flash based causes some restrictions.

I would have a day and night mode set up for voice mail/aa. During day they would get the day menu on the voicemail and restrict any transfers to only the operator. Actually it should ring to the operator instead of AA. In essence, it is going here anyway after the AA gets the call. Set all digits on vm to transfer to office if it RNA.

During a night greeting, program a second menu that allows direct extension transfers. Put in forwarding for RNA/BUSY.

You can also set up an auto day/night timer in the phone system to change with the times you provide. You can use the operator station DND as an override if needed for special function days.

There are things that can be done but it really needs to be defined. They also need to know limitations on how calls are processed once it's programmed. Best would be to draw a flowchart of call progress.

In flash 09 that is specifically the School Zone/School Forwarding is for. It allows stations marked as adminstrators to contact classroom phones but external calls go to VM.

 Genius! Didn't even pop into my mind about school zones. Combined with other stuff i think it might work laugh

So School zone isn't exactly working out. It's seeming to block all internal calls too. Aka the office can't call Mr. Teachers room...it goes right to VM. I want to block outside calls but not internal. But I also want the main office to be able to transfer an external call to any phone whether they are "allowed" to directly receive outside calls or not.
