There is no "printer" cable that fits both systems.
Serial printers that I have seen are DB25 but I doubt you are using a serial printer. Are you doing SMDR? A female DB9 is for a PC com port.
The 1428 has a DB25 and the 2856 has a RJ45. If you are using the RS232 expansion module it has both RJ45 & RJ11.
You will need to be more specific.

I need to down load the data base from the system so that I can have a hard copy of it. I will be using my pc as the "printer". The way I read the manual I can do this,correct? And yes I need a RJ45 (from the system CPU board) to my PC (DB9 female).

I realize that all is above board and this is a great site. No offense was meant. I wish I had know about it years ago. I was just trying to keep the chatter down.

There is no formal cable that was made/provided for this system, however here are the pin assignments:

MPB->DB9

5-> 2
6-> 3
4-> 5
7-> 6
3-> 4

Also, pins 7 and 8 must be shorted together on the DB9 connector end.
