I am migrating some 3515 telephones to a SBX Telephone System. The SBX system in on 3.5 and the 3515 telephone will not work. This is my first try with this, is there any programming that I am missing?
Thanks,

Don't forget that the STS phones are wired to the center two pins of the plug (pair one), but the station ports on the SBX come out on the outer pins (pair two).

Thank you Ed. I was testing on our bench and I was going directly from the telephone into the SBX and there in lies the problem.

Does anybody know the logic behind this design? I would prefer 25 pair amp connector or at least modular connectors that you could plug a phone in to test phones and ports.

Probably to make the ports hybrid, analog or digital like a Panasonic. I wonder if the first port is pinned out differently since it is a digital only?

It gets worse. With the 16 port products, each jack supports 2 digital phones. Now, you have digital station ports on pairs 2 and 1. Try and keep that one straight! puke

Can you use the 3515 or 3015 phones on the sbx by using the outer port pair as the digital portion of the circuit??

thanks
Mike

3515: Yes, with limited functionality (soft keys don't work, etc.)
