Has anyone connected a 7480-00 caller ID unit to a 2856 system.
The DB9 plug from the 7480-00 must be converted to an 8 modular plug on the processor card.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Wade

KSU pin 5 to DB9 pin 2;
KSU pin 6 to DB9 pin 3;
KSU pin 4 to DB9 pin 5;
KSU pin 7 to DB9 pin 6;
KSU pin 3 to DB9 pin 4.

Strap DB9 pins 7 and 8 together (must).

Thanks Ed,

I noticed this is the pin-out diagram for connecting my PC to program a 2856. Do you think its the same for connecting the 7480?
I will try it? Other than baud rate (2400), ICLID on and ring delay, is there any other programming?
One other note, the guys at Used-Phones are not sure this 7480 to 2856 has ever been done. Do you know if it has? Thanks Wade

I took the information straight from a tech bulletin that Vodavi sent out, so I can't say with 100% certainty that it is accurate. I've been told that the 7480 is electrically identical to the 1480 with regard to wiring, although the jury is still out on the 'mandatory shorting of pins 7 and 8' on the DB connector end.

Yes, you'll need to set the remaining caller ID parameters in flash 56. Don't forget that once you have used the COM1 port on the CPB for caller ID, you can't use it for programming unless you turn it off via flash programming on a phone first.
