Has anyone ever seen an intermittent D channel on a Triad PRI card ?
Thanks
Only when the service provider is using a non-traditional switch ("soft switch"). In my experience, it had to do with extraneous characters being sent in the calling name information. We were able to prove this by having the service provider remove the name information data and the problem went away.
This has to do with the fact that the system was designed to operate under industry standards, but service providers' inconsistencies with information sent make it appear that the hardware is malfunctioning. It isn't.
I'll have the carrier try it.
Thanks much.
The carrier is using a "metaswitch" to get the PRI to us.
We had the carrier caller ID name turned off for the last 2 weeks and it's been working fine.
Today it crapped.
I'm having them turn off all caller ID for a bit.
We'll see if this cures it.
I thought Metaswitch is a company out of Reston Va that provides hosted services, including voip. I guess they host PRIs as well like Century-Link does. This is much newer technology compared to the Triads pri capability.
