Small Mom & Pop repair garage, with not enough office help to answer incoming calls ( not my problem i know),.
A call sequenceer cost is way out of line for a 4 co and 7 ext,s. He does not want vm. Seems to me call park, dialing the park code
can be complicated. Any low cost solutions ???
Thanks Gary S.
Not sure how call park would solve anything for answering incoming calls. It sounds like they need an auto attendant. If they don't want voice mail, you could just not forward extensions to a mailbox. The only other option I can think of is to install an answering machine to one of the single line ports, but it will only take messages if the calls are unanswered. Sorry if this was no help.
They already have an STS? Can't you just use the built-in UCD?
I second the use of UCD. Unfortunately, without a voice mail card, there won't be any pacifier messages played for callers who are held in the queue waiting for someone to answer. I suppose a music on hold player of some sort will at least let the caller know that their call is in process.
Use the STS UCD and install a Viking DVA-Ldp announcer on one of the slt ports, it will play the please hold calls answered in order received bla bla bla. Amazon sells em pretty cheap.
T
he UCD would work but the office staff has downsized to one girl at x100, the ucd would want to transfere that call to another station.
thanks Gary S.
Ucds can be a group of one with no overflow, cues up as long as the customer can stand being on hold, but you better have some music in addition to the anouncement.
