Anybody ino Win 440CT, can it be programmed from a set or due you need a lap top. If passwords have been changed is there a back door. How easy or hard are they to work on.

It cannot be programmed from a set, 19.2 using VT100 from a laptop to the maintenance port or through the 1200 baud RMI modem. There is a default password or two, depending upon software version. They are a bit quirky in the way commands work may interact with other commands and required sequences to perform certain programming functions, but they are robust systems with very high reliability. If you're familiar with a Legend/Magix programming sequences, a Win is not far off, except no GUI for programming, strictly command line based.

Actually WIN does now have a GUI based program for both the switch and the VM.
If the default Sys Op password has been changed then WIN will have to dial into it and reset it..this would require permission from the Business on their letterhead faxed to WIN.

they are not bad after you catch on to the dos programming commands, just remember help.....we do a lot of these switches they seem to be a good stable system but do not get involved in the integravoice they pretty much suck. their external mails work great and I even hear they have a new flash card mail..hope this helps,,, they are a breeze
