Hello there,

I work for a small software company, and we've just got a hold of several LG GDK 16 Systems. We decided to set one up and use it in the office, and I was the one who got the job of configuring it. I have very little knowledge of phone systems, but I'm reasonably proficient in other areas. I am able to follow instructions, anyway!

We're looking at setting up the GDK16 phone system to forward incoming calls to an outside line - I've had a look at the manual and as far as I can work out, it doesn't seem possible. I can forward to off-net stations, and hunt groups, but the only option I could see that might be useful was the forward to SPD. I'm not really sure what SPD is but guessed at Speed button, which I thought may be programmable with a an outside line number (e.g mobile). Unfortunately, I can't seem to get any further. I found no way to program the SPD BIN, and still no way to forward incoming calls to an outside line.

So I have a couple of questions

Is it possible to forward to an outside line?

What is an SPD BIN – where can I access it?

apologies if the terminology used is poor, I'm very new to these things.

thanks in advance

J Lee
I believe that you have the UK version of Vodavi's Starplus SPD or infinite Digital. If so, I am relatively confident that the programming is the same:

First, you will need to store the outside number in one of the station's speed (SPD) bin locations (00-19). This is accomplished by pressing the SPEED button twice, dialing the two-digit bin number, dialing the external telephone number, then pressing the SPEED button again. The external telephone number will remain permanently stored in this location until it is intentionally erased.

After that, dial 640 plus * and the bin number that you used above to activate forwarding.

To cancel this forwarding, dial 640 alone.

If this does not work, please reply with your manual's code for setting the system clock so that we can locate the proper programming procedure.
You will also nead ISDN on your system as like Ireland ye don't have cpc on the lines for the call to clear down.If you dont have isdn dont use call forward to out side line or it will keep the lines open untill you power down the system
OBT is correct, but if you ask bt to set clear disconnect timers to 800ms and you set the GDK16 loop disconnect timer to 500ms, the analogue trunks will clear down ok.
