Greetings everyone,

Can the NEC experts here please giveme a roadmap as to the proper comm ports to connect my various connections onto a NEC 192 system?

I am looking for an idea of where to connect:

(1) PC-SAT connection (is it comm 1?)
(2) SMDR output connection (is it comm 2?)

Since the system right now is mounted pretty close to the wall, I can only go by feel, and can't really see the labelling on the cabinet connectors, so any idea would be appreciated.

thanks

per the hardware manual:

Least Cost Routing (LCR) COM 1
PC Programming COM 1
Wireless Programming COM 1
Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR) COM 2
Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) COM 4

Serial-port characteristics include:
Characteristic Value
Baud Rate 38.4 K (maximum)
Parity None
Stop Bit 1 stop bit
Data Bit 8 bits
Port Type DCE

com 1 is the port closest to the back wall. com2 is the next 1 forward and so on.

Chris,

Thanks for your help.

Now, just have to find a straight-through cable that has a 25 pin female and 9 pin male ends.
