I'm having a problem when I try to use Electra Elite IPK End User SAT v 2.5 with my system. I have tried both a direct connection and the Elite LAN PC interface and each time I get a timeout before it connects.

Is there a default end user password I don't know about that I need to use or could there be a setting that I'm missing? I have tried to talk to our service provider and they use their own software to access and program the system . Any help you could give would be appreciated.

A straight through cable is used. What port are you plugging into(rs232)? What baud rates have you tried? You service provider uses SAT also. Where did you get you copy of SAT? This version has bugs & I wouldn't recommmending using it unless you know what you are doing. The bugs are related to certain info being lost when uploading. I make all changes w/ phone programming & only use SAT for Backups.

I quess thats my problem. I think I'm talking to someone who has a least looked up the requirements to use SAT & has some knowledge of baud rates & terminal connections. Not someone who downloaded a program from a tech stupid enough to give it away.

Actually I got a copy of the End User SAT from our service provider who seems to know less about it than I do. Seems that they neglected to set the passwords during the inital phone setup so that we could access using PC programming. In fact, the tech had absolutely no idea how to use the program herself.

I appreciate your help. And I apologize for seemingly starting a flame war...

No password is needed at default.

What baud rates have you tried. The reason the installer might not be too familiar w/ SAT is because it is not taught in the basic class. It is too unpredictable to use for little changes on a daily basis. I use it for backups only & it is also needed for ACD Plus. My techs in the field must do all programming through the phone. There is a safer version of SAT for 'end user' that allows name changes, speed dial admin, & a few other stuff. It won't allow damage to parts of the program that could cause problems.

he might be referring to the password needed to get into sat.

default password is really easy..........give you a clue....it's in the beginning of this line...........and it's not default.
