How do I set up the VMS for an Elite 48? IT has the VMS(4)-U10 card. I'm starting from scatch and don't really have a clue....
I need to have the 3 incoming lines go to a single mailbox. That's it.

thanks in advance...

kinda expensive answering machine isn't it?!

anyway it's pretty detailed:

7-1 assign the card
7-2 assign the port type to digitalvm
4-10 assign ext numbers to the vm ports
1-8-26 assign the vm master ext number
4-14 assign the 1st vm port as master
4-15 setup the vm port hunting
1-8-08 allow vm features in cls
3-42(day) & 3-43(night) assign trunks to ring the vm (you didn't specify day or night or both)

half way there

you'll need the cosessions software to build mailbox and really do anything detailed in it

build the vm box for the ext that needs to receive the messages and you might as well set this box as the system manager while you're there. remove the f in the access codes

in transaction boxes

goto the $greeting box

set the transfers to no. in the alt action goto the mailbox you built above.

record a greeting in the $greeting (you can use the manager functions thru the phone on the ext you built above)

Yes and no. It was left in a suite my company leased. We gave it to our building construction guys since their 30 or so year old 25 pair system is failing. Since I have some (very little) experience with phone systems (Avaya G3SI, I inherited the phone admin postion when my predecesssor was fired. One week later our Intuity had a catastrophic failure and I had to start form scatch in one night programming a borrowed box 400 or so users)

So, in other words, I need some cash and I said I'd program this switch....

What I need this thing to do is have 3 lines ring on 5 phones and have one mailbox for all 3 lines. I've been able to get the 3 lines on the 5 phones, just need to do the VM now.

OK, card assignment done.
Ports 09-12 are set as DVM
The ports are assigned consecutively 01->ext 100, 02->102....
Set the VM master ext to 110
1st port is master
Port hunting? It's displaying ICMFWD?

Thanks for the info!

OK, so I need to set the hunting numbers for the 3 lines to 110, right?

Oh, I don't have any of the software. Been programming with a 16 line phone.

Hm, OK, it works. But it still has all of the old auto attendant messages on it.

How can I get rid of them?

you'll need to log on using a user id that has admin abilities. then you can re-record the main greeting but you really need cosessions software & a null modem cable to really do admin on the vm. i'm shooting you an email
